For this project, I was required to choose a brief from the D&AD New Blood 2025 competition and craft a response that could actually be submitted to the contest. I selected the Christopher Ward brief, eager to create a fancy motion design-heavy video about the intricacy of watches.
After studying the brief and making a bunch of notes and a mindmap on a Miro board, I began having a few ideas for the kind of product I was going to pitch. The one I fell most in love with was a video game that would challenge the player to build a Cristopher Ward watch themselves, with a score being provided based on precision.
Between solidifying the concept and actually executing it, I had an extremely short timeframe, which is why there isn't a lot of pre-production material for this project. After creating a storyboard that was literally just written sentences on Figma slides describing what each scene was, I immediately jumped into animating and editing the whole video. I dreamed of making an actual prototype of this video game somehow, but the stars didn't align for a gargantuan task like that. Still, I'm very happy with how the video turned out!
